Just returned from the Thirty-first Annual Friends of Erma Bombeck AUTHORS LUNCHEON hosted by The Arizona Women’s Board, a fundraiser for the prevention of kidney disease through awareness, education and research (authorsluncheonaz.org). Truly an event EXTRAVAGANZA held at the ARIZONA BILTMORE (1100 attendees) including Master of Ceremonies HARVEY MACKAY with the Author Program including WILLIE GEIST/American Freak Show, The Completely Fabricated Stories of Our New National Treasures; CARL HIAASEN/Star Island; WALTER MOSLEY/The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey; JESSICA SEINFELD/Double Delicious: Good, Simple Food for Busy, Complicated Lives and ADRIANA TRIGIANI/Don’t Sing at the Table: Life Lessons from My Grandmothers. A book signing/program It was FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY!!! Entertainment galore!!! An Event I won’t forget!



I first wrote Adriana Trigiani to participate back in April. Now after many months of e-mail communicating, I have the privilege to meet a HUGE SUPPORTER of Jo's Library Quilt. Talk about ONE BIG HEART! Here's a lady with a GIANT ONE! She's helping Jo's Library Quilt Build A Library In Many, Many Ways! And in addition to a fabulous writer, she's also a "stand up comedian." I didn't know! Ya gotta hear her speak! It's hilarious! It just wasn't long enough! (Thanks Adriana!!!)



Little did I know there was a comic on Jo's Library Quilt! Well...honestly, I should have know. My letter to him refers to "Kick Ass" and "Paradise  Screwed" so I should have got some kind of clue!  I wrote Carl Hiassen WAY BACK in March and fortunately had the opportunity to also meet him in Phoenix. Gave him a little "peek" at THE QUILT." And ironically his "signature square" is right next to Adriana Trigiani! AMAZING wouldn't you say? (Thanks Carl!)
